This May, Atlanta will come alive with a vibrant celebration of Afro-Brazilian culture. The 23rd Afro-Brazilian Arts Festival April 28-May 2 in Atlanta is a vibrant, community-centered celebration of Afro-Brazilian culture, heritage, and creativity. This annual festival brings together people of all ages and backgrounds to experience the dynamic traditions of Brazil’s African-rooted arts, including capoeira, percussion, samba, and other cultural expressions that honor the legacy of the African diaspora.

This year, we are thrilled to welcome special guests from Brazil, who will share their artistry, knowledge, and passion with our community. Attendees can enjoy engaging performances, participatory workshops, and opportunities to connect with artists and cultural practitioners from Atlanta’ s rich multicultural community. The festival is especially meaningful for youth, offering hands-on experiences that inspire, educate, and empower. By providing equitable access to arts education and cultural programming, the event creates opportunities for participants who may face barriers to involvement. Through interactive workshops, performances, and mentorship from visiting artists, the festival fosters cultural understanding, skill development, creative expression, and the growth of the next generation of artists and cultural leaders in Atlanta.
