A Hometown Hero, Congratulations Mestre Fran!

This week our Mestre received this award from the City of Decatur for serving our community here in Georgia since 2002. Mestre Fran is also the founder of World Arts Foundation a local 501c3 nonprofit that creates safe spaces where people all ages can participate for free with our programs in communities all over Georgia but also Brazil, Colombia, Luanda Angola, Argentina, Portugal, Puerto Rico and New Zealand.

These projects include: Feeding the homeless, free capoeira project for refugees and children around the world, providing free food, clothing, capoeira classes, belt ceremony’s and seminars.

We are honored to be amongst the handful of cultural leaders and organizations to receive the award, and grateful for the and trust of the City of Decatur
